VEGETABLE SEEDS PLANT
Monsanto India’s Seeds Supply Plant is an integrated facility for both Row Crops and Vegetable crops in a total area of 32 acres in Lalgadi Malakpet village under Shamirpet Mandal. As part of seeds supply strategy, having already achieved two milestones by setting up Corn Drier and Quality Assurance Lab in the year 2007, Monsanto India established its Vegetable seeds plant exclusively carved out in 7 acres of land with an investment of $5.5 Million. This plant would enable leveraging of resources between vegetables and row plants. The new state of art machineries installed in the plant would help Monsanto’s endeavor of improving growers’ life by providing them quality seeds and set up new benchmarks in Vegetable seed business in India. The facility has got Seed conditioning , treating , drying , Packing , warehousing ( ambient , Temp controlled ) with an annual capacity of close to 15 million units of packed seed . The unique features of this Plant are Seed treatment, drying and seed sanitation units – these are imported, latest technology, first of its kind in Indian seed industry .These units will improve Seed quality, Vigor, uniform seed coating, delivering disease free seed to the customer.
The state of the art new Vegetable Plant was inaugurated by Ms Consuelo E Madere, Vice President, Global Vegetable & Asia Commercial, Monsanto Co., USA on 22 nd March’12 at 9AM
PARENT SEED DRIER & PLANT:
Mr D Narain, Monsanto India Region Lead, inaugurated the Parent Seed Drier for Corn and Mr Amitabh Jaipuria, Managing Director, Monsanto India inaugurated Parent Seed Processing Plant.
Post consecration ceremonies of above 3 facilities, more than 500 invitees; vegetable seed growers and coordinators from Karnataka/Maharashtra, Seed Tollers, Contractors, Engineers and employees from Hyderabad assembled at a specially structured facility to celebrate the success. Mr Ravinder Reddy, Monsanto India Manufacturing Lead welcomed the gathering and the celebration event commenced with Lighting Lamp as a part of Indian tradition followed up with Chief Guests addressing the gathering.
The whole event turned out fabulous with honoring the “Best Contributor” Award for 23 of Monsanto business partners \associates; Tollers, Engineers, contractors, seed growers, coordinators and field supervisors by Consuelo, D Narain and Amitabh. Later all the Growers, Coordinators and Tollers have had the privilege of site tour and enjoyed real experience of Monsanto state of the art facilities and live operations.
